He was born to parents Joseph James Folz, Sr. and Dorothy Elsie Worman Szewezak on 12/02/1941 in Washington, DC.
Joe grew up as a military child and had the opportunity to live in many different places with his family. Joe followed his father’s footsteps and served in the military. He retired as an United States Air Force Officer after 20 years of service. He was awarded the Bronze star during his deployment to Vietnam in the mid 1960s.
In 1971, Joe earned a bachelor's degree from the University of Hawaii, Honolulu. He went on to further his education and proudly earned his Juris Doctor Degree from the University of Colorado and passed the state bar exam in 1979; coincidently the same year he retired after serving more than 20 years in the USAF. Joe then began to practice civil law. Joe’s dedication to his clients was matched only by his dry sense of humor in, and out of the courtroom. Joe was more than a decorated veteran and an attorney; he was a true embodiment of honor and respect.

💔 In Loving Memory of Joe Folz: A True Man's Man 💔
Today, we gather with heavy hearts to remember and honor the life of Joe Folz, a remarkable individual whose passing has left an indescribable void within our hearts. Joe was not just a founding member of Kompo Green Inc; he was a beacon of strength, wisdom, and selflessness that guided us through the early stages of our journey. As we reflect on his life, we find solace in knowing that Joe lived his life on his own terms until the very end.
Joe Folz was more than a decorated veteran and an attorney; he was a true embodiment of honor and respect. His unwavering commitment to serving others was evident in everything he did, always placing the needs of others before his own. Whether it was helping our team establish the B Corporation process based on the values of respect and sustainability or lending a listening ear to a colleague in need, Joe was the epitome of selflessness.
But Joe's impact went far beyond his professional achievements. He had a spirit that was untamed, and his love for riding his Harley was a testament to his adventurous soul. Joe embraced life's joys with unwavering enthusiasm, reminding us all to seize every moment and live life on our own terms. He showed us the importance of finding our passions and fearlessly pursuing them, never compromising our authenticity.
In the face of Joe's passing, we are left with a profound sense of loss. However, let us not dwell solely on our sorrow, but instead celebrate the incredible legacy he leaves behind. Joe will be remembered as a loving friend, a devoted family man, and an exceptional mentor to all fortunate enough to cross his path. His memory will forever be etched in our hearts, serving as a reminder of the extraordinary impact one person can have on the lives of many.
As we bid farewell to our dear friend, let us uphold the values he cherished. Joe lived by the mantra, "Respect All, trust few, and verify everything," a philosophy that guided his interactions and shaped his character. Let us honor his memory by embracing these words and incorporating them into our own lives. May we carry forward Joe's legacy of kindness, integrity, and unwavering dedication to others.
